Boys' Hockey
Boys’ Hockey is open to all from 2nd to 6th Classes. It takes place on Tuesdays from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm during the Autumn and Spring terms at the Three Rock Rovers grounds in Rathfarnham. There is no hockey during the mid-term breaks or for the Summer (3rd) term, although occasionally there can be matches after Easter.

Boys’ Hockey will only be cancelled if the pitches are frozen - the Sports Committee will notify participants via class WhatsApp group. If you are car-pooling with other parents, please ensure that the children know the arrangements in the event of cancellations.

Requirements
If your son is participating in hockey, you (or another designated adult) should be present for the entire session while it is taking place. Coaches cannot take children to the toilet for child protection reasons. It is also important that you or a designated adult is available in case your child becomes upset, hurt or injured.

Boys’ Hockey lasts for one hour – please ensure your child is supervised before and after the session as school insurance does not cover the children during these times, and that he is collected promptly.

All children must bring a hockey stick and wear appropriate footwear (no metal studs), shin pads and a gum shield – they cannot play without them. A named water bottle is also advisable.
