This month Mrs Duffy’s class have had a trip to the Arctic. We set up an igloo in the role play corner and we packed up a rucksack and dressed up in warm clothes before taking a kayak to venture into arctic waters. We used binoculars to see some animals who live there. We went fishing for food and set up camp in the igloo. We tried to build our own igloo in the construction corner and made lots of play dough models. We played arctic bingo and we used arctic stencils. We made snow using cornflour and shaving foam and we even made a snowman using a sock!! We also looked at animals in the Antarctic, especially the penguin. We made penguins using modelling clay, we
tried to draw a penguin, we waddled like penguins and learned all about the lifecycle of a penguin.
