Many of you will know our classroom assistant Mrs McConnell from her friendly welcome to your child in Junior Infants right through to the skilled support she gave the pupils in their guided reading work further up the school. After 21 years in Taney Mrs McConnell has decided to move on to the next chapter of her life and she will be hugely missed from our school community.
In her characteristic understated style Mrs McConnell wanted no big announcements, fuss or fanfare - however today all the children she works with this year gave her a surprise guard of honour out of the school, holding their books and readers up high in a show of gratitude for the love of reading she has instilled in the pupils.
